Official Groundbreaking A Momentous Occasion

Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation (CVMF) in partnership with the Cobb County Commission held the official Groundbreaking for the Cobb Veterans Memorial on Thursday, July 7, 2022.

“We were so excited to have hundreds of people in attendance including a former Governor, State Representatives and Senators, a former U.S. Congressman, leaders of a multitude of Veterans Organizations from Cobb and North Metro, and hundreds of citizens and service members who support our Mission. This was beyond a momentous occasion.” said Donna Rowe, President of Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation.

The Cobb Veterans Memorial Park is a permanent tribute to all Veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces and their families. The Cobb community has enthusiastically embraced this Mission. The Cobb Veterans Memorial Park site is located at 502 Fairground Street, Marietta, Georgia and will feature Honor Walls recognizing honorable veterans, Service Walls denoting each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, a tranquil reflecting pool with a green space having seating for over 2,000, and the centerpiece a 142 foot Star Tower that will rise above the park.

The Mission of the Memorial has three components: 1) to Build & Honor 2) Educate our children and our youth on the value and meaning of Service to our community and our Nation and 3) to be the “Hub of Service” for our veterans and their families as the vehicle to get the veterans in touch with Cobb organizations that are available to help and serve our veterans and their families.

We thank everyone who has been so dedicated and supportive of  this project and to all  who attended the historic groundbreaking event that will live in infamy in the memories of all of us. Thank you!

If you would like to be a part of this exciting Mission, volunteer or donate here.
