Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation (CVMF) in partnership with the Cobb County Commission held the official Groundbreaking for the Cobb Veterans Memorial on Thursday, July 7, 2022.

“We were so excited to have hundreds of people in attendance including a former Governor, State Representatives and Senators, a former U.S. Congressman, leaders of a multitude of Veterans Organizations from Cobb and North Metro, and hundreds of citizens and service members who support our Mission. This was beyond a momentous occasion.” said Donna Rowe, President of Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation.

The Cobb Veterans Memorial Park is a permanent tribute to all Veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces and their families. The Cobb community has enthusiastically embraced this Mission. The Cobb Veterans Memorial Park site is located at 502 Fairground Street, Marietta, Georgia and will feature Honor Walls recognizing honorable veterans, Service Walls denoting each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, a tranquil reflecting pool with a green space having seating for over 2,000, and the centerpiece a 142 foot Star Tower that will rise above the park.

The Mission of the Memorial has three components: 1) to Build & Honor 2) Educate our children and our youth on the value and meaning of Service to our community and our Nation and 3) to be the “Hub of Service” for our veterans and their families as the vehicle to get the veterans in touch with Cobb organizations that are available to help and serve our veterans and their families.

We thank everyone who has been so dedicated and supportive of  this project and to all  who attended the historic groundbreaking event that will live in infamy in the memories of all of us. Thank you!

If you would like to be a part of this exciting Mission, volunteer or donate here.

The Cherokee County chapter of the Wingmen Motorcycle Club announced partnering with the Patriot Guard Riders for the 1st Annual Freedom Ride event.

The event will start at the Canton American Legion at 9:00 a.m. with a kickstand up to ride at 11:00 a.m. and will terminate at the American Legion Post 29 in Marietta.

The Freedom Ride will be making an “honor pass” through the Georgia National Cemetery, and posting flag bearers at marked grave sites as part of the fundraiser. The Patriot Guard Riders of GA have accepted the event as an official mission and will be creating a flag line at the entrance of the cemetery, providing flag bearers at each grave site sponsored by event riders. The flag posted at each grave will be presented to the Veteran’s family and/or sponsor at the American Legion in Marietta.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit the Cobb Veteran Memorial Foundation.

Join us for a day of camaraderie as we honor those who serve.

Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation (CVMF) sponsors Wreaths Across America and Commissioner’s Trophy Exhibit on Monday, March 14. The Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit was part of a nationwide tour to Remember, Honor and Teach by coordinating annual wreath-laying ceremonies for United States veterans at Arlington National Cemetery and more than 2500 other cemeteries across the United States and abroad.

CVMF shares the mission to Honor, Educate and Inspire future generations by building a world-class memorial park in Cobb County that will honor and thank all veterans and their families for their service to our Nation. The Atlanta Braves organization is also very involved in supporting veterans in Cobb County and graciously provided attendees of the event with an opportunity to be photographed with the Commissioner’s Trophy won by the Atlanta Braves in the 2020 World Series.

“Today is about Wreaths Across America because we are partnering with them, because we want people to donate a wreath to be in our national cemetery at the Christmas season. And part of that money for the wreath comes to Cobb Veterans Memorial Foundation. And the Braves were nice enough to work with us and let us have the World Series trophy to bring awareness to the Cobb Veterans Memorial,” said CVMF President Donna Rowe.
